15 Years of Experience Grew Into a Farming Consulting Business
Hi, I’m Daisy, founder and agricultural consultant for Dig In Consulting. I am also a mother, a wife, and a solar-powered woman who needs to be outside: in the garden, on the farm, in the mountains, exploring deserts, and running rivers.
After 15 years as a ‘boots on the ground farmer’ and having started school garden programs and a community garden, I decided to transition to full-time consulting to make a broader impact. I originally got into farming following my strong desire to make the world better. My move to consulting is based on that same desire. My practices are deeply rooted in eco-agricultural. Growing food in cooperation with the earth is accessible to everyone, whether on a farm, in a garden, on a patio, or on a windowsill. Small-scale farming is complex. There is the soil and weather, plants and critters, diseases, microbial populations, planning, employees, families, schedules, budgets, and possibly multiple owners, to name a few! There is a lot to navigate. My goal is to help small-scale farmers navigate some of those complexities, be a sounding board, a solution finder, and a resource for crop planning, soil science, plant health, and professional relationship navigation.
